After Dark Presents: Be More Chill

HCTʻs After Dark presents Be More Chill, a darkly funny, high-energy musical about fitting in, technology, and teen ambition. HCT After Dark presents Be More Chill, a darkly funny, fast-paced musical about a high school student who discovers a pill-sized supercomputer that promises to solve all his problems. From popularity and romance to confidence and control, the show explores what happens when technology starts making choices for us. With sharp humor, catchy music, and a comic-book energy, Be More Chill takes a look at teenage insecurity, peer pressure, and the cost of trying too hard to fit in. It is bold, weird, and unexpectedly heartfelt. Content Advisory: This production is part of HCT After Dark and is intended for mature audiences. The show includes strong language, sexual references, themes of drug use, and mental health topics. Viewer discretion is advised.

Improv & Open Mic Community Nights!

 Hawaii Children’s Theatre and Kauaʻi Community Players present Improv Night & Open Mic!

Join us for a fun, creative evening of theatre games, improv, and open mic performances.

Kids are invited from 5:30 to 6:30 pm for Improv/Open Mic

Adults Improv from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and Open Mic at 8:30 pm.

Dates are Fridays: August 21, Sept. 18, and Oct. 16.

$5 pay at the door.

HCT Private Coaching now Available!

HCT is excited to offer private 1:1 coaching with incredible instructors and performing arts professionals Jacyn Fain and Dolly Kanekuni.

Whether you or your child are getting ready for the next show, preparing for an audition or callback, working on a solo, building confidence on camera, or wanting extra support with stage presence and performance skills, private coaching is a great way to grow.

Students of all ages can choose the instructor who best fits their goals and work one-on-one on skills such as vocal technique, song coaching, acting through song, scene work, audition cuts, self-tape technique, modeling/commercial performance, mock auditions, and performance confidence.

Work with different artists, strengthen your skills, and get practicing!

This program is designed for teens and HCT alumni who have grown through our programs and are ready to take on more complex and mature musical theater material. In an intimate black-box setting, these experienced young actors, designers, and stage technicians work alongside adults and seasoned professionals to explore deeper themes, take creative risks, and elevate their craft. It’s a unique opportunity for advanced students to grow artistically in a collaborative, professional-level environment.

This is a full-scale, Broadway-style production where young performers work alongside seasoned adult actors and professional theater staff to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.
