Rising Stars Showcases
Summer Stars — AM Showcase
Each summer, students in the Summer Stars AM program create and perform their own original showcase — treasured performances that highlight the creativity and growth of our youngest participants.

Other past programs of note
HCT has always been a dynamic, evolving organization. Beyond our flagship Mainstage, Summer Stars, and After Dark series, our second year (1997) brought spring programs — full productions and "message theatre" designed to spark discussion on important social topics. We even took HCT abroad, performing original message plays at the World's Fairs in Portugal (1998) and Hanover, Germany (2000).
Our message theatre work grew into the Pono Players, a pre-teen and teen troupe who wrote and performed their own plays for schools across the island — addressing teen suicide, drug prevention, and bullying with empathy and empowerment. Their legacy still inspires our mission today.
In 2023 we launched HCT Academy for year-round education. During the pandemic, students pivoted to online scriptwriting classes and performances — and as soon as audiences could return, we joyfully celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a dinner and Broadway Revue. Every chapter has left its imprint on the organization we are today.
